How to stop receiving subscription renewal emails from Apple

Tired of receiving monthly emails about your app subscriptions and services paid for through Apple? Here’s how to opt-out.

Looks like the whole world is turning to registration. There are dozens of video and music streaming subscription services, apps are increasingly adopting subscription models, and Apple has some new services of its own.

The odds are, you have a few subscriptions paid for through Apple, from apple apps or private services. And if you don’t, you might. Apple sends you email receipts every time you renew your subscription —not ahead of time as a reminder, but after the fact as a regular purchase receipt. If you have a monthly subscription number, it can quickly get out of hand.

Fortunately, Apple recently added an option to turn off those emails.

How to turn off renewal confirmations in iOS
Open the settings.
Tap your name at the top to access your Apple ID.
Tap Subscribe.
The conversion button for the renewal receipt will be at the top.

How to turn off renewal confirmations in macOS
Open System Options.
Click apple ID.
Click Media & Purchases in the left column.
In the right column, click Manage next to Subscribe.
In the pop-up window, a check box for receiving registration receipts will be at the top.
How to view your renewal receipt
If you turn it off, you won’t receive email receipts for subscriptions paid for through Apple, but you may still see them in your purchase history. In the App Store on your iPhone, tap your picture in the upper right, and then tap your name at the top to access your Account Settings. Scroll down and tap Purchase History to see all purchases you’ve made that have been paid for through Apple, including subscription renewals.
